Jazz Hands

Apparently Tyler has come to love posing for pictures using Jazz Hands. We have no idea where it came from. But just like everything else Tyler does, it is a trait all his own.  (Mommy loves you big boy!)

Jeremiah is getting so big!

April 3rd, 2010 by mariahbuck

My baby just doesn’t seem like a baby anymore. Jeremiah is 8.5 months. He loves to be mobile. He has started to crawl, but has not yet perfected it. However, he has decided to give up crawling in an effort to start walking. He can now walk along the couch holding on to the edge and he can stand for a few second unassisted.

He also loves to eat. Jeremiah’s latest love is Cheerio’s. He is still a bit young for them, but I couldn’t resist his chubby, toothless grin. I tried it with just one and the rest is history. If it were up to him we would just forget the baby food and he would only ever eat Cheerios. In fact, it kind of ticks him off when I try to spoon feed him baby food. He just wants to do everything himself. Doesn’t he realize that mommy wants him to be little for a while longer??

The last post we have with updated pictures was from December. So here are a few to catch up..

Oh, So polite!

January 10th, 2010 by mariahbuck

Tonight as I was making dinner, Tyler was playing Lego Star Wars for the Wii. Here is what my polite little mister said to his game:

Tyler: “Excuse me sir, but If you don’t mind, I’m gonna havta whoop you.

That’s fine?

Ok, you asked for it!!”

At least we have taught him to be polite ;) He is such a funny boy!

Tyler Said..

August 2nd, 2009 by Mariah

Mommy, When I grow so big, I’m not gonna drive a car. I’m gonna drive a horse.

Tyler: Mommy, do you know wanna know why the sun goes down at night and it gets dark?                                                                                                                           Mommy: Sure.                                                                                                                                 Tyler: God made it like that so if people wanna do fireworks, it will be dark so they can see them.

Tyler (talking to Mom and Dad): I don’t need to ask permission for snacks now that I’m a big brother, right?

Happy Birthday Jeremiah Riley!

July 23rd, 2009 by Mariah

My sweet, precious baby boy has finally arrived. What a week it has been. I can’t believe that tomorrow he will be one week old! I love him so much and he is so perfect! However, he had a bit of a hard entrance into this world.

About 1am on July 16th I began having contractions. They stayed consistent and seemed to get harder until I woke Shaun up at 3am. We went to the birth center. Shaun called Tasha on our way and she met us there. I was honored that she joined us for the birth of our son. I was 2 cm when we arrived. I will spare the “blow by blow” details. But suffice it to say, I made slow progress. The contractions continued to come about every 3-5 mins but still no baby.

I was exhausted and discouraged.  The place that we chose for the birth of our son was across the street from the hospital and is called Mercy Family Birthing Center. There are 3 or 4 rooms, a living room and a mini kitchen. It is set up to feel like home. The rooms were very big and had a bed, large easy chair, and a birth tub. There was also a full bathroom. I made use of everything we could think of to progress labor. The birth ball, tub, shower, walking, laying down, etc. but little Jeremiah would not come. Since I had chosen a drug free labor, that made it eve more difficult.

However, I have the best most supportave husband in the world. He walked with me and rubbed my back, told me jokes and even sang to me to help ease the pain. I have never been more in love in my life. He is the man of my dreams and so much more! My sister-in-law Tasha was also there. She is also amazing. She happily jumped into her 12 passenger van at 3am, leaving her 6 babes at home; forgetting the fact that she was 12 weeks pregnant, to endure 21+ hours of labor with me. Never once complaining and having nothing but patience and love and empathy for me. I am so blessed!

When the time came and Jeremiah was ready to be born, I had been in the tub for quite some time. I wanted a water birth and I was determined that that would be the way my baby would enter this world. He did. However, his shoulders got stuck. My doctor acted quickly and helped me to deliver him, but it didn’t come without much bruising to my sweet baby. Despite the pain, fatigue and little blue, bruised baby; it was all worth it! He was beautiful and one of the most precious things I have ever seen.

I welcomed Jeremiah Riley Buck at 10:20 pm on July 16th 2009. He was 8.5 lbs and 20.5 inches of pure perfection. I can’t wait for everyone to meet him!

Pocahontas

June 20th, 2009 by Mariah

Today I rented Pocahontas from the library for Tyler. We were watching it together this morning. During the scene where Pocahontas and John Smith 1st meet, they are singing together and holding hands. Tyler turned to me and asked.. “Mom, when I grow up so big, can I go in the t.v. and hold hands with that girl too?” Aww, I guess my little guy has a crush. Does it get much cuter than that?

I’m Gonna Be a Fireman When I Get Big

April 10th, 2009 by Mariah

Tyler and I have been joining a friend each Wednesday morning for story-time at the Nampa Library. Tyler loves it. They alternate reading a kids book and singing a song. Then they read, then they sing. It is a great mix for the active boys that my friend Natalie and I have..

Today, after story-time, Tyler and I were walking to our car and saw a firetruck parked outside of the fire station. Ty asked if we could go look at it. There was no one inside of the truck and they didn’t appear to be leaving, so I said yes. I guess that I underestimated the awesomeness of the Nampa Fire department. It was almost like they were waiting for us to walk up.. About 6 firemen came out of the station before we made it to the truck. I asked if it was ok for us to look at the truck, to which they responded, “Of course!”

They opened the truck up for Tyler and pulled out a plastic fireman’s hat to give to him. They gave him a sticker badge to wear on his shirt. They let him climb into the back of the truck to check out the hoses. He got to try on a pair of firefighter boots, sit in the drivers seat, put on the headphones and even turn on the lights and sirens! Tyler was in paradise!!

He has been telling Shaun and I that he wants to be a police man when he “grows so big,” but after today’s experience; he told me that now he wants to be a fireman when he grow so big :)

The Nampa Fire Department Rocks!!!

Sunny Day

April 5th, 2009 by Mariah

Well, it snowed yesterday… Yah, I know. It’s April. But we live in Idaho. Apparently the state of Idaho doesn’t understand that it SHOULD be warming up by now!! That’s ok. Today was a warm 62 degrees and sunny. It really didn’t feel all that bad. I guess maybe we are getting used to the cold? Who knows, but it sure was nice for the boys to be able to go outside to play without freezing!

We partied like three-year-olds :)

January 31st, 2009 by Mariah

Tyler’s Chuck E Cheese birthday party finally happened. It was a week late, but we did it!  My boy has been feeling much better and so we rescheduled his birthday party for 1 week later. The Hussey’s, the Douglas’, the Reeve’s and the Bucks (Mom included) partied hard at Chuck E Cheese.

This was the perfect party for Tyler. He could run from game to game, he could play on the slide and in the tubes, eat pizza, drink soda, and go back to do it all over again. He had a blast. It was loud and it was wild ~ it was perfect for Tyler! :)

After the kids played and we all had pizza, cake and did presents, the Reeve Family challenged the other grown ups to a Dance Revolution face off. There were several adults who were not up for the challenge and bowed out before they could be embarrassed beat at the game. But Laurissa, Dave, Jordan and Mariah rocked it out!  It was shameful and embarrassing but oh, so much fun!

When the night was over and it was time to leave, Tyler was sad. Daddy and Mommy tried to explain that he could pick out a prize before we left. But all he wanted to do was to go back and play. We quickly picked out a package of Chuck E stickers and we were on our way home. My baby was so worn out that he kept shaking his head back and forth just to stay awake. We got home and he played for a minute or two, went up to bed and crashed! I think, if he could remember back, he would say that this was his BEST birthday ever! We’ll see what happens next year.
